MUNICIPAL ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT /
LOCAL BUILDING OFFICIAL
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Initiate, review and recommend changes in policies, techniques and procedure on infrastructure development and public works in general of the Local Government Unit concerned.
- Administer, coordinate, supervise and control the construction, maintenance, improvement and repair of infrastructure and other engineering and public works projects of the Local Government Unit.
- Provide engineering services to the Local Government Unit, including survey, engineering plan and specification preparation and project management.
- Responsible for the implementation of PD 1096 known as the National Building Code of the Philippines.
- Exercise other powers and perform other duties and function as maybe prescribed by law or ordinance.
MUNICIPAL-MANAGED POTABLE WATER SYSTEM
A spring source of water so called “Tinago Spring” located at barangay Ayahag which is 6.50 km away from the town proper of Saint Bernard that serve potable water for nine (9) barangays.
MOTOR POOL:
Responsible for the maintenance and operation of the following Municipal Equipment:
3 units => Dump Tracks
1 unit => Backhoe
1 unit => Pay Loader
2 units => Ambulance
1 unit => Welding Machine
1 set => Cutting Outfit
WASTE DISPOSAL:
Provide assistance for the proper implementation of Municipal Solid Waste Management through Garbage Collection for ten (10) barangays including Saint Bernard town proper.
The dumpsite has an area of 7.5 hectares, located between the boundaries of barangays Mahayahay and Tabontabon.
MAINTENANCE, IMPROVEMENT & REPAIR OF INFRASTRUCTURE & OTHER ENGINEERING & PUBLIC WORKS:
Includes maintenance/repair of public buildings, municipal roads, bridges and canals, dump site, municipal cemetery and other public facilities.
